Politicians who cannot or will not define what a woman is deserve all the contempt they get. If you can’t define women you can’t legislate to protect them.

Hello! I have started a new blog and have reposted, with kind permission, a looong but superb essay by the lawyer Peter Daly on how institutions start to believe they are morally superior and cause harm as a result. Please read, comment and share as you see fit:

Captured institutions and bad decisions
I first met Peter Daly in a hotel bar in Portugal in 2024. I found him to be great company and good fun. Peter is a lawyer (and partner at Doyle Clayton) who has spent the last 15 years working as …

Ontem acabei o libro "Post Office Scandal" do @nickwallis.bsky.social.

Uma empresa pública, o Post Office do Reino Unido, que estragou a vida a centenas de empregados, por causa de um sistema informático. É um escandâlo relativamente recente que passou me ao lado.

Listening to more of @nickwallis book, I’ve never heard the term “Malicious Prosecution” before, but I can’t think of any better description for what POL did to the SPM.

They pursued baseless prosecutions solely in an attempt to file POCA claims to recover money.

More Singh'd against than Singh-ing.

The Post Office's former Head of Criminal Law reveals himself to be an incoherent clown.

It would be funny had he not helped give innocent people criminal convictions.

It’s very unlikely I will ever have two books published in 12 months, so forgive me if this gets a bit relentless in the run up to xmas but do consider The Great Post Office Scandal and/or Depp v Heard: the unreal story as presents for the book lover in your life.
