Btw, for those who don’t really know me, welcome! I tend to say that I wear many hats. I was a 80s child and 90s teen, growing up steeped in technology, video games, and music starting with the C64 and Atari 2600, and broad musical taste but naturally leaning into the guitar and the synthesizer.

Since it’s been well over 40 years since I first laid my hands on the #c64, I’m feeling like I want to dig into and try to actually learn to program 6502 assembly. As if I don’t have too many projects and interests already. 🤣 What can I say? The C64U has me inspired!

When we miss the Old Internet it's not just nostalgia, it's missing a time when online culture was driven by people who were really good at written communication rather than people who really liked to be on camera and hear themselves talk.
i have said this before but if you are actually interested in influencing people beyond a narrow circle of too-online journalists you will be making direct to camera videos on tiktok, instagram and youtube. if you primarily post on text-based social media then you're just dicking around.

I can’t get over that he did all of this in MARIO PAINT! Rob Sheridan, making the most creative use of tools since 1993 (at least!). Kind of the MacGuyver of artists, or maybe the Gene Wilder in Young Frankenstein. 😆
In honor of Mario Paint arriving on Switch, here is a very dumb movie I made with Mario Paint when I was a kid. You could only make/save one short little animation loop at a time, so to put a story together I had to make each shot and record them one by one on an old Betamax VCR.

They are too good to me!
I’m sorry but I actually expected the base game to have upgraded graphics/framerate. Bit disappointed really.
The base game is still fantastic, but this expanded re-release introduces some frustrating limitations that make it hard to recommend.

Ok, the hype is correct. Donkey Kong Bananza IS in fact a great game! This thing will sell some Switch 2 units for sure! I admittedly spend a lot of time just smashing up the level, but only because it’s so satisfying!
