Did you know that reading to children helps them build empathy? It’s true. And right now there’s so many reports and studies about how people read less, and read less to kids, and it seems like a time we need more empathy. So please read to the children in your life!

Listen to your children read. Read to your children. Read alongside your children. Take them to libraries. Talk about what reading means to you & what it can unlock.
Tell them it doesn’t matter if it’s comics, magazines or books as long as they’re engaged with the written word. #WorldBookDay

These days I often think of a quote by one of my former 7th grade social studies students, now graduated:

“I don’t want the world to be like this.”

Me neither, H.M. Me neither.

Happy Tuesday #KidLitChat! Can't wait to jump into tonight's questions about the titles that are still on my 2024 #TBR, but also want to make sure this community knows I'm offering a #giveaway of my two UNFORGETTABLE LOGAN FOSTER books for anyone that likes, shares and gives me a follow.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but you don't need to justify your reading preferences and choices to anyone. Audiobooks count as reading. Also, you don't have to finish books you don't enjoy. Don't read to impress, read for yourself. Life's too short, love yourself, ok?

Signed, a librarian.

Korea Expert here. I’ll explain what’s going on over there because the Orient can be confusing to Westerners. In Korea, there is a concept known as “the law.” (법) This is a set of rules which are enforced to encourage prosocial behavior and ensure stability which leaders aren’t allowed to break.
