I encourage everyone to to look good on their bike, from the red carpet to the grocery store.

A more "Dutch inspired" version of this would lean into materials construction to help communicate user priority and manage speed. No special warning paint or even crosswalks needed. This is typical at unsignalized side streets where the bikeway and walkway would continue uninterrupted.

This location is a stressful point on a major bikeway, and the bridge revamp project was the right time to build real infrastructure.

Drivers should yield to people walking and biking, and we should design the crossing so that behavior is intuitive.
