I visited the beautiful old towns of Sefrou and Bahlil today. Sefrou had a wonderful market taking over the entire downtown.

Drove north toward Fez. Visited an ruin of a mosque on a hilltop, then explored Aguelmam Azegza National Park and saw wild monkeys (Barberry Apes?), lots of sheepherders, and just beauty all around me.

I hiked up “The Cathedral Imsfrane” today - a large rock formation in the High Atlas. The day started with thick fog concealing everything, and then it started lifting, coming in waves of fog that half hid the mountain.

Truly discovered the #HighAtlas! I’ve had some amazing days in Morocco so far, but yesterday was truly EPIC. Started in high valley surrounded by mountains, and then climbed up up up a mountain pass. Deep snow, barely passable. Huge mountains all around. Then down to “The Cathedral” mountain.

My route through Morocco continues high up into the Atlas Mountains. Started at the Iminifri Natural Bridge (the road goes right over a huge cavern) then ascended to near Massif M'goun (4068m tall).

On my last day in Marrakech I went to the African Art Fair and saw such amazing contemporary African art. Such a magical city and combining that with art took it over the top.

The last two days involved visiting the #JardinMajorelle, YSL Museum, and then disappearing into the Agafay Desert.

#Marrakech Day 2: exploring the islamic architecture of Medersa Ben Yousef, finding local handicrafts (new scarf), discovering the quirky dolls of the Musée de l’Élégance Marocaine, and stepping back in time with the photos of the House of Photography in Marrakech.

Arrived in #Marrakech yesterday. What a hustle bustle compared to the countryside. So beautiful though and so much to explore.

Another day, another adventure. I rode up a steep mountain pass from Aït Benhaddou up to the outskirts of Marrakech. Along the way I stopped at a very old and remote salt mine and was shown around by an active miner.

Drove across central #Morocco today along the south side of the Atlas Mountains (I’ll cross them again tomorrow). Saw a huge solar array, visited #AtlasStudios film sets, and finished the day at the UNESCO World Heritage site Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou.

The oasis town of #Skoura was a wonderful surprise. I knew very little about it before arriving, but discovered an incredible restored #Kasbah (Amridil), palm groves, extremely friendly people, and such good vibes everywhere.

A day of canyons: Todgha Gorge to the Dadés Gorge.
January 26, 2026 at 7:31 PM
I hiked high up into the mountains around the Todgha Gorge today. Got some amazing views of the High Atlas mountains, met some mountain camels, and just enjoyed being far out into nature.

More epic #Morocco! 🇲🇦

Left #ErgChebbi dunes on my morning camel, then drove through my first ever #sandstorm (cue Darude)!! It was wild and very windy and I got sand in my teeth. Visited #GaraMedouar (الجبل المدور) which felt totally post-apocalyptic in the storm. Met some other cool riders too!

Today I got to fulfill a childhood dream. I remember wanting to visit the Sahara and ride a camel since I read #NationalGeographic as a young kid. This afternoon I arrived in Erg Chebbi on the far western edge of the Sahara. The dunes are stunningly coral colored.

What an epic day riding through the #Atlas Mountains in #Morocco. I descended down through the high mountain plain into Missour and then up over the pass at Tizi n'Talghamt and then down into the #Ziz valley.

I’ve left #Malaga and am now in Africa! Well… I took a 6 hour ferry to the the Spanish enclave of #Melilla on the coast of #Morocco. Tomorrow I’ll cross the border and enter Morocco to begin exploring!

We went “hiking” on this trail called the #CaminitoDelRey which is mostly suspended over a gorge. It used to be the access for a 1905 dam that was built there, but is now a tourist attraction. Such a stunning location with beautiful views.

Our visit to #Granada was a blast. Here are some favourite little vignettes from today.
January 14, 2026 at 9:11 PM
We took the train to #Granada this morning and visited the #Alhambra Palace. The famous water fountains, ornate muqarnas (beehive) ceiling carvings, and just the grandeur of such an enormous hilltop palace. #architecture

PZ and I went to a #MálagaCF vs. AD Ceuta FC match today at La Rosaleda stadium! The fans were amazing - lots of chanting and singing and a really cool atmosphere. There was a nervous ending, but Malaga ended up winning 2-1. I hugged the fan next to me!

Today was a beautiful sunny day and 17°C. We biked along the Mediterranean, through old tunnels, and along the beaches. Then, we stopped for lunch at #CasaKiko and had some amazing flame roasted sardines, paella, bar clams, and fried calamari.

PZ and I just spent the morning making paella, sangria, churros, and a roast pepper salad with a cooking class in Malaga. It was fun and really delicious. We also visited Atarazanas Market and ate olives and almonds 😋. #SpainFoodSherpas
