Grandad, dabbles in a bit of poetry,
Born in Gateshead a long time ago.
Around when NUFC last won F.A.cup.
I'm so old I can remember.............
When families looked after each other And no one was left
'Home Alone' 'Tik Tok' was the sound that the clock made,
And what on earth was a mobile phone.

I'm so old,........... I can remember Christmas on the Colliery in the days they called post war,
When most food was still on ration, And this OLIVER asked for more. 🌲🦃🍽️

I'm that old I can remember.....
When lasses serving behind shop counters, Were very good at sums, They could reckon up our groceries with just their fingers and their thumbs.

My late father and my late younger brother, I took the photo myself in the mid 1950s, My father a coal miner since the age of 14, colour has been added, and a couple of hours later my father would have been crawling around in a 18" seam in the Durham coalfield.

All I can say about the 6'6" Nick Woltemade scoring the winning goal on his SJP debut, Wyn Davies the NUFC legend who recently passed away, would have been proud of that goal himself, I hope it will be the first of many and he like Wyn will become a Toon hero. #AGreatStart.

If Sessko opts for the Toon instead of Man U, then the Toon Army will be able to sing "Sessko turned you down" at Old Trafford for the next 30 years. A scary prospect.

Out early today to catch the Sun, fortunately it soon arrived, just as well, as these. Flowers are much too beautiful to stay closed don't you think ?

'Sunday Thoughts'
With the cricket season
Suddenly upon us
My memory kindly recalls
Those long Summer days
Of my boyhood
And White Washed wickets
On Gable end walls.
#CollieryDays.

A player like Dan Burn, is quite unique, no silky skills or fancy tricks, but a massive influence on this Newcastle side both in defence and up front.
The new England manager obviously recognises his qualities.

So a president of the U.S.A. describes the prospect of a end to the Ukraine/ Russian war in which Thousands of lives have been lost by saying " Wouldn't that be beautiful, beautiful"
Try telling the countless bereaved on both sides that.
Shameful choice of words.

From throwing darts
To playing golf
And placing arms
Across the chest
Hell all they've done
Is score a goal
What will they think of next.
