Our dog has been sick (and not eating), and we took her to the vet. She does have an infection, so we're giving her medication. She still won't eat unless it's in her bed. I'm starting to think she's trying to train us to feed her in bed...🤔

Today was a busy day at work. I haven't caught up up on any of the news. I'm about to check, but is there anything horrifying I should watch out for?

Today seems to be going a lot more smoothly. I updated auto insurance, paid my credit card bill, and am about to order checks and get my niece her birthday gift and card.

After that, I'm doing laundry, & relaxing the rest of the day.

Then I'm going to watch my beloved @pbs.org British mysteries.

Just got home. I haven't looked at the news all day. Not sure if that's good or bad.

Do other people have a week where they keep getting everything wrong at work, and they wonder how they still have a job? It's been difficult.

Rosalind Franklin’s DNA research was foundational to “the 1st accurate model of DNA's chemical structure….
Franklin died from ovarian cancer in 1958, a few yrs before Watson, Crick, & Wilkins won the Nobel Prize, which is not awarded posthumously & can only be shared by 3 living scientists.”🧪

James Watson, who used crucial research about DNA from fellow scientist Rosalind Franklin without her permission, who talked so much shit about her after she died, and who later went to claim that Black people aren't as intelligent as white people, died at 97.

There. Fixed it for you.

Just watched Nuremberg, & it felt mostly authentic. My only problem was that when they listed the groups affected by the Nazis, they failed to mention people w/disabilities. Multiple times to talk about the T4 program, & nothing. Unless I missed something; if that's the case, please let me know.

Deaf and Deaf-adjacent folks, I need some help.

I have a student who needs to hire a writing coach that specialises in helping folks who are primarily ASL speakers write in English. Where do I look to find one who is able to assist with dissertation-level academic writing? Does anyone know someone?

I'm at the part of the day/week/month/year where I want to curl up and hide from everyone. Too much social interaction is draining me and making me irritable.

I know folks don’t want to hear this… but before SNAP & social supports people died

Did everyone die? Of course not

But many did

Help doesn’t magically arrive just because you need it

Disabled people are often shunned by their family & communities

Remove the supports & people die

Does anyone use the Texas Retirement System (TRS) of Texas? Are you retired? I have a few questions, if anyone is willing to answer them.

Does anyone else have a favorite text/book that they read on Halloween? Mine is MacBeth, but I'm going to incorporate Mary Shelley this year.

I had a pretty good day today. A meeting with my supervisor went far better than I thought it would; a group meeting explaining a new concept was highly attended (and the concept was well-received); and I saw the ?vulture? turn their head again this morning.
