For book lovers who like hard magic systems in epic fantasy novels, I recommend Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson. And for those of you who prefer to listen to audiobooks, pick up the Graphic Audio version of the book. Each VA adds a dynamic edge to every character and it was a joy to listen.

Hakuzan's Mask
It is by no means a traditional Tengu mask, but I had just started doodling and this thing appeared. From the side, the nose juts out like a beak, making it look more Tengu-like. It is a mask carved out of maple wood. Only a rough draft.

I workshopped the name of this little bitty. Formerly Tanoko, her new name is 珀山 Hakuzan, which, I think, is a fitting name for who she is and who she will eventually grow up to be. couldn't quite decide on how to draw the eyes, but I liked how it came out.

I am beginning to wonder about the state of my cognitive abilities. I cannot draw consistently. Nearly every sketch of a single character, if I do it freehanded, looks different every time. Does any other artist suffer from this lack of consistency?

... yet the wholesome things are somehow more embarrassing. I'd like to draw something to go with it, but can't bring myself to do it. Shameful. So very shameful.
