Scotland passed the world’s first Community Wealth Building Bill.

Why do we need economic democracy? What are the advantages and areas of potential pitfalls in the bill? And where does Scotland go from here? Read the @futureeconscot.bsky.social paper by @neilmcinroy.bsky.social and I here:

All cabinet ministers need to reveal all communication with Peter Mandelson. The disgraced Lord and former US ambassador could have been a national security risk.

Peter Mandelson trying to present himself as a victim of Jeffrey Epstein. WTF are @thetimes.com & Katy Balls doing colluding in such debased client journalism & at such an inappropriate time?

Labour's Lord Mandelson remains a Peer. Shocking. Labour - for decades - have turned a blind eye to this odious creep, allowing him into high office.
I'm not prone to exaggeration but this is probably the biggest scoop I've ever been involved in

Mandelson's partner took £10,000 from Epstein to pay for his osteopath course while Mandelson was de facto UK deputy prime minister, according to new files

Labour have an open war over leadership. High stakes. Burnham made play for leader and to be Prime Minister. Now he either retreats and thus looks weak and unfit to be leader or fights to win.

Greater Manchester's economic model is based on land and property investment, city center, consumption, financialisation and rentierism. It is neoliberal urbanism. Inequality has grown and levels of child poverty have stayed the same for 10 years.

Powell is being untruthful and we all know it. Burnham is making a push to remove Starmer. He aint wanting a seat to merely help out the team. He is wanting seat to be PM and lead his own team. He wants to be the manager.
Labour's deputy leader Lucy Powell tells @thefabians.bsky.social conference the party should not prevent any candidate - ie Andy Burnham - running for Gorton by-election.

Ed davey leader of lib dems is on TV. He is talking how lib dems would solve cost of living, crisis in public services etc. However, he and #libdems created the crisis when in coalition government 2010-15- backing austerity to the hilt.

Less than 1 in 3 voters, voted in GM election for mayor in 2024. Burnham won on 63% of those. Meaning only only 1 out of every five Greater mancunians voted for him.
January 24, 2026 at 11:26 PM
The real story is that Labour now has an internal war. Everyone knows it. It is a fight for who becomes PM. Voters are watching and it is deeply unedifying.
Ed Miliband tells the Fabian Society conference: “I very much hope the local party will have the option of selecting Andy Burnham as the candidate”.

This is all ridiculous and unedifying. An MP retires and prospective replacement candidate- #burnham - refuses to say he is interested - but probably is, whilst also being touted as replacement Prime Minister, but there is no vacancy! The voters are watching. www.thetimes.com/uk/politics/...
