As always, I'm terrible at remembering to document things, so no pictures for last night's Poetry Potluck - but the food and conversation were excellent (and we had some top-tier desserts as well). Post potluck, a few guests lingered and we talked more about grief as a country and landscape. A+

Vancouver poets and poetry-loving friends, I'm hosting a Poetry Potluck this Saturday (Nov 16, 6pm) for 6 guests and still have a few seats available. Guests bring a dish and a poem. We chat about literature, art, culture, film, and whatever else for 2-3 hours. DM me for more details.

What you can expect: posts about poetry and literature, obscure quotes from obscure books, pictures of dishes I make, updates on Star Singer (opera), interactive fiction projects, and other digital humanities projects

Remind me why I decided to return for another grad degree? Some mornings I really want to go back to bed and hibernate.

Cross-country trek to BC is completed. I'm mostly unpacked and starting to settle into my UBC dorm (yay, dorm-life for old people!) This poet is back to learn new tricks and the ways of the librarian Yedis before him.

Less than a week before I embark on my dangerous journey to Vancouver, BC -- a path that it seems will take me through hellfire and precipitous mountain passes before ending in the western shores. Still packing. Still wishing I could take more.
