Just started this and I'm finding it much easier to get through. The other version is scholarly, and while eye-opening, I was having a hard time getting through it.

This version, the text is truncated with the graphic images which helps convey the ideas that Timothy Snyder conveys.

Finally, finally finished. After 1000+ pages, an unsatisfactory conclusion.

Well written, beautiful prose, fleshed out characters and story. But the conclusion is a letdown, not going to lie.
Book by R.F. Kuang entitled The Burning God. The book is purple with a female warrior leaping over a castle wall above a monster. Tendrils of smoke behind the title.
