Well, I have successfully made it in (and now, thank god, out) of the United States.
Idk if/when I will be back—which is sad, because I love US folks.

I won't be there because I was denied entry to the United States.
They refused to say why; my best guess is some combo of the inauguration, politics, Palestine, and maybe, a new normal.

Spent my day at jury selection. I ultimately was not selected but it's weird to spend an hour or two occasionally meeting the gaze of an admitted murderer (he wanted to plead to murder in the 2nd degree but the crown atty wouldn't accept the plea and thus the need for trial). Murderer looked bored

i painted something tonight that probably not too many people would like but i really enjoyed making and there's a lot of joy in that :)

is following a tutorial actually making art? I do that sometimes but I worry that the final products - even if they ultimately are dissimilar from what's demonstrated - are tainted by unoriginality somehow

I had never painted before and was taking a landscapes painting class with a teacher I didn't get along with. I last 2 classes and then decided I'd be better off elsewhere. This was the first thing I painted by myself, in April of this year
