The Rural Student Teaching Experience (RSTE) program supports student teachers while they complete a one-semester internship in rural ND school. This semester, the RSTE was able to accept eleven students into the program. We caught up with them to find out where they taught and what’s next.

James J. Doolittle, Ph.D., has been named Director of ND ESPCoR. Doolittle will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, management, and overall coordination of the program. He joined ND EPSCoR in October of 2023 as Project Administrator and was named Head of Operations in August of 2024.

We're launching a Pilot NSF Proposal Resubmission Program to help ND researchers improve an already highly-rated NSF proposal for resubmission. Awards of up to $9,000 can be used for unfunded proposal reviews received within the past 6 months.

When Leah Feland had to give lessons on cell mitosis for the 7th grade life science classes she was student teaching this fall, she thought about how she could impart the material while keeping her students engaged. She had her students make their own animations with Play-Doh and an iPad app.
