Protecting Prince Edward Island; NCC has collaborated with the @charlottetownpe.bsky.social to add 265 hectares of conserved water sources to the federal target of protecting thirty percent of natural areas in Canada.

Bonne nouvelle pour la nature en Nouvelle-Écosse! Grâce à la MapleCross Foundation, 88 hectares ont été ajoutés à la réserve naturelle Parr Lake. Elle couvre désormais 206 hectares à Kespukwitk, une région riche en espèces en péril.

Good news from Nova Scotia! Thanks to the the MapleCross Foundation, the Parr Lake Nature Reserve has been expanded by 88 hectares. The now 206-hectare nature reserve is located in Kespukwitk (southwest Nova Scotia), an area with a high density of species at risk.

Working together to safeguard water supply!
Thanks to ECCC’s support, NCC partnered with the city of Charlottetown (@charlottetownpe.bsky.social) to conserve drinking water sources for the city! This benefits citizens and local wildlife by keeping watersheds intact.

Canada has 25% of the world’s wetlands, so protecting places like Marlborough Wetland in Ontario matters. It means safeguarding habitat for species at risk and creating landscapes that are resilient against climate change.
