Its wonderful to see the MIR184 story out now! I am grateful to have been a part of it all.
A landmark study in gimjournal.bsky.social identifies a novel genetic cause of Fuchs endothelial corneal dystrophy, offering new avenues for future therapies. FECD gradually damages the cornea, leading to vision loss.

Day 1 at ESCRS congress in Copenhagen. Even as a research scientist, I’m thoroughly enjoying Cornea Day!

The coffee break pastries have also been absolutely outstanding

De novo and inherited dominant variants in U4 and U6 snRNAs cause retinitis pigmentosa
The U4 small nuclear RNA (snRNA) forms a duplex with the U6 snRNA and, together with U5 and ∼30 proteins, is part of the U4/U6.U5 tri-snRNP complex, located at the core of the major spliceosome. Recen...

I foolishly signed up for a race with some of my lab colleagues in January. So now I’m obligated to put in a good show. Trying out the Runna app this time. I have to say though, a happy playlist and a gorgeous sunrise really does make it easier.
