Mainly slowly travelling on our Narrowboat Bertie along the waterways of the UK...I've never seen the point of arguing when you can share a joke instead...
We found some trees to hide under yesterday in the Oxford Botanical Gardens..the star of the show, at least for me was the Rafflesia, the largest solitary flower in the world..I don't know how big they grow but it was a whopper and very pretty..

To the tune of the immortal poet & musician Jilted John, altogether now "Michael is a moron" ("just cos he's better looking than me"!)

Memo to self: stop day dreaming about getting mooring outside pub and remember to turn the tap off before taking the hose pipe off.....

@badgermash.bsky.social Have you ever been to Rousham Gardens. Spectacular!

Miles from the nearest boat. It's Mark Steels in Town followed by an old edition of The News Quiz and some cider..

It's a simple life but we love it!

70 seconds of why life on the waterways is great. If you see my mate on the South Oxfordshire give him a little wave, if not a tow..(you need the volume on).

Until last Sunday, this warehouse contained our entire lifetime possessions. The Police are apparently investigating it as suspected arson.

The 'abandoned' medieval village of Wormleighton. Enclosures forced 60 'commoners' off their land the 16th century.

You can still clearly see the ponds, paths & small fields.

The old and the new - the new HST bridge at Wormleighton and one which is 225 years old..

One moment your thousands of books and a lifetime of 'stuff' are sitting happily in a Lowestoft warehouse, the next you've got just the memories..

Watford Country Park, Northamptonshire..ridge & furrow fields from medieval times.

I used to walk here regularly with my Dad 50 years ago looking at narrowboats that were like spaceships to us.

We knew nothing about them. I wish he could see Bertie moored here today.

There have been some pretty rubbish Springs in recent years weather-wise, but this one has been lovely.

Here's a little video of our last 3 weeks on the Northamptonshire & Leicestershire Canal from Norton Junction to Foxton Locks.

It's lovelier on a bigger screen!

I've woken up with the larks most of my life, which can be a tad early at this time of year.

However, when you can take photos like this at 5.30am it's worth it.

Foxton Locks, Leicestershire.

Northamptonshire is very beautiful part 127...especially on a lovely sunny spring day..

We're either in for a wet summer or no water in the canals but you probably can't beat today..heading north west in Northamptonshire

Continuing the 'Northamptonshire is more beautiful than you think theme, here are a few photos of Elkington, Winwick & Naseby Church.

After the battle of Naseby, the victors even went and chopped the hands, feet and noses of the tombs and statutes. God knows what they did to the people still alive
