Here's my take on Charley Crockett's song, "Easy Money." I heard this song a week or two ago and it stopped me in my tracks. I immediately learned it. There's something about the combination of his unique voice, hard life, and amazing songwriting that really works. I hope you like my attempt!

We were working with pen and ink techniques in my @clarkcollegecce Fun with Watercolor Tools class this week! Pen and ink can really transform a Watercolor painting by creating an added layer of value and texture.

I think I'm pretty much done! Another Watercolor. I just love capturing the colors in sunsets, and silhouettes are so fun!

Starting a new one! I took the reference photo when I was walking the neighborhood. One of my favorite things about this area is the sunsets. Just gorgeous colors!

Wow! Thank you to everyone who came out to help me celebrate my birthday and thank you to Doomsday Brewing for providing an amazing venue for it! My heart is full and my fingers and throat are tired. Haha! I wouldn't trade it for anything! Your love and support mean the world to me.

This week, my watercolor and acrylic students at Clark College Community Ed learned the importance of preparation before you start painting. Doing these quick color sketches and swatches helps artists develop a plan for what colors they'll need and what they might want to alter from the photo.

Glazing over the monochromatic painting!

Prepping for my @clarkcollegecce acrylic class tomorrow. Starting with a black and white painting and then adding color after is a much easier process than starting with color and value at the same time.

This guy gave us quite the scare last weekend. Out of nowhere, Norm started stumbling around like he was drunk. Eventually, he couldn't walk at all without falling over. After an ear infection diagnosis and a slew of prescriptions, he's on the mend. I'm so relieved it was pretty minor.

Here's a new one! Watercolor, 12x16. I really enjoyed capturing the warm lighting of the sun and the cool blues on the snow.

What a fun night! We raised some money for MusicCares with over 20 other musical acts at the Brickhouse in Vancouver, WA! The money will go to musicians impacted by the LA fires.

New Watercolor! 12x24. Old truck + old building = my happy place. I just love capturing the rust and weathered tones of these rustic subjects. $300

One of my favorite exercises I have my drawing students at Clark College do. You flip the printout upside down and then draw the lines you see on a piece of paper. At a certain point, you forget what you're drawing, and all you see are random lines and shapes. The result is pretty accurate.

Here's a new one called "The Night I Met You." I was going for something funky with this one. I'm also trying a new recording setup. Not sure if it made a difference. Haha.

My band, Kill the Headlights, is looking forward to playing this benefit at Brickhouse in Vancouver, WA, on 1/31. All proceeds go to Music Cares, a charity that supports musicians in the LA area.
