Today is #ClementeDay. I wrote a children's book about #RobertoClemente. CALL ME ROBERTO! is not just about baseball feats or a tragic death. It's about a man whose defiance of bigotry has given me permission to be myself in a world that would rather I be someone else. And I'm so grateful.

Seems like a good day to remember that #PaulRevere was captured before he made it to Concord. I was an adult when I learned this, and I’ll always be bitter about it because teaching myth over fact isn’t harmless; it’s a deliberate way to keep Americans from facing the darker truths of our history.
