Please - oil on canvas - 46x50 inches - September 2007 - private collection
I used the new, fancy Topaz upscale feature in photoshop to make this one look better than the 2007-era photo I had. More info in ALT. #fineart #contemporaryart #surrealism #oilpainting

I understand that I live in a racist society. I do not in any way understand people who willingly embrace that construct as something to protect and continue.

The color of my skin doesn’t make me feel like I’m better than anyone else, and there is nothing you could possibly tell me that would change that.

Without naming your job, tell me something you say over and over again at work.

“How can you be an artist, yet not understand aspect ratio?”

Dude would bring a pallet of Bud Light to Germany. I bet he brings instant coffee to Hawaii.

We're supposed to be better people than this. We're at the very least supposed to be trying.

But, you know what? Fuck that fetid racist scumbag Donald Trump. He should be fired. Out of a cannon. Into the sun. And fuck each and every partisan and supporter of his who won't condemn his racist, fascist, nationally-destructive bullshit.

and he got very little, because their answer was essentially "we won't accept anything you want." We needed another FDR. We got a less-scandal-prone version of Bill Clinton, always looking for a constituency to throw under the bus in search of "grand bargains" and "skin in the game."

And once the election and inauguration had passed, it turned out we got a guy who started negotiations by asking the Republicans responsible for all the damaging and breaking and ignoring what they'd accept...
February 7, 2026 at 3:43 AM
You know, I was incredibly disappointed in the presidency of Barack Obama. We needed boldness, we needed a champion to fix so much that had been damaged and broken and far too long ignored.

What most people call “talent“ is just a stubborn willingness to keep doing a thing until you no longer suck at it.

Also, there’s a straight line from there to MC5 to the Ramones…

He’s a super villain, come to life.

It still boggles my mind that he asked how much it would cost to end world hunger, was given a figure he could totally afford by a reputable source, and then... didn't do it. He'd still be a multi-billionaire, & could have done a thing that would have made many millions around the planet love him.

The best time for a lefty billionaire to create an endowment for a non-profit news organization would have been 25 years ago. Today would also be acceptable.

My car does this, occasionally. There was a recall. The repair obviously didn’t work. Dealer sez 🤷‍♂️. Too bad I can’t actually see out of the fucking thing, without the camera. Tell me again how regulation of business is bad…

Still at it. Why? I don’t know how not to.

The only "commonsense" response to ICE is to abolish the agency, handing core function to agencies that haven't been militarized against the American people. If you can't see that, you have no business in the senate, and certainly not in leadership! PEOPLE HAVE BEEN MURDERED BY ICE! END THIS NOW!

Don't let your self be taken advantage of. I entered a few entry-fee-required juried shows when I was starting out. Sold nothing in any of the ones I got into. Find a coffee house if your resume is thin. Find alternative spaces/groups/etc. Don't pay parasites.

Many galleries have open calls without fees attached. If someone thinks they can sell your work, they don't need you to pay them money. They already take half the proceeds of sales.
January 31, 2026 at 9:19 PM
Don't enter juried shows that have entry fees, either. Certainly don't pay a "rental" fee for a gallery to show your work. Every dollar you give a place that exhibits your work is one less dollar they have to work for, trying to sell your work.
