Has anyone ever gotten an ad inside fb messenger? I just got my first one (no accidental URLs or anything in the msg). If this is a thing now, I guess Meta figured out how to drive me the rest of the way away from *all* their apps.

I love this time of year. I slept out on the deck this morning and then again for a nap. I was surprised the sun was down when I woke up. Action Princess Lucy was still keeping me company. Mosquitos aren't biting yet; it's not sweltering; it's great.

When thinking about AI writing code, remember code is just a way of telling a computer what to do. Assuming that AI can actually write good code, someone still has to tell it what logic to use. If all login screens could be the same, every language would have a login screen function.

I do absolutely get the technical reasons that a federated network like this one can't really have 'private' posts for friends-only, etc. it still chafes a little. I'm pretty used to all my fb posts being friends-only. Almost enough to spin up my own where it's just friends and friends of friends.

No one has seriously called me Nick in decades... :( it was very funny in college when 2 ppl who meet and realize they'd been talking about me to each other using 2 different names, thinking I was 2 different people...
