I wrote a short tribute for Everyday Muslim on the importance of Ghee Bowman's scholarship on Muslim and South Asian contribution to Britains war effort in WW2.
There is much more to be said. My condolences to his family and loved ones.

Hi new followers— I'm a historian of far-right extremism, writing a book about German & American neo-Nazis. I also wrote a book about Turkish-German migration, which you can download free (tinyurl.com/kahnbk) or buy from Cambridge w/ discount FTHL2024. I also research queer fascism & gay neo-Nazis.

Just received my authors copy. Great to see my translated article “Colonialisme et Coran” in print. With a depiction of Napoleon reading the Qur’an on the cover page which reflects the beginning of my essay. 🙌🏽

I argue that #Britain viewed Hadhrami #Arabs as invaluable assets to win over #Muslim opinion across the #Malay Archipelago during #WWII

Ultimately, this shows how much Britain needed Muslim support to win this #war.

Sharing this here again! 😃😃

Muslims have been an integral part of European history and culture for a long time. This article explores how Muslims in interwar Austria attempted to establish a faith community and build a mosque in Vienna, and why they eventually failed.

📢 We have a cover for our forthcoming book. As you probably recognise, the cover is based on the frontispiece of the 1651 first edition of Hobbes' Leviathan. Just that this version is fuzzy, compromised, fragmented, and layered. Exactly what we argue about sovereignty itself.
