Unions are majority funded by the dues of the membership. Membership dues are connected to salaries. As such the WNBPA is not as well funded as some other unions & likely cannot afford a robust staff which would include a comms person. I do however think this is where affiliates could help #wnba
According to the WNBPA’s website, they don’t have a dedicated comms person. IMO it is shocking that professional labor organizers wouldn't know they needed a comms person who could draft a solid PR/media strategy that had tactics ready to go for every possible outcome in these negotiations.

Nah they didn’t and I don’t think most of us did either. They really wouldn’t have pressed the question had they had that info. And there weren’t any context clues for them to pick up on. But I’m happy for her being able to have such good and fun memories made on this day #unrivaled
