The purpose of this video is to display some more information about me as a researcher, why this project is exciting and important, and what I need from you as a participant in my project. I am a cisgender white woman with blonde curly hair and wearing a black tank top with tattoos visible on my arm and I'm in front of a blurred background. So a little bit about me as a researcher. I'm a second year funded PhD researcher at the University of Leeds and this project comes out of my undergraduate tutelage in social anthropology at the University of Manchester, where disability was mentioned a handful of times during the curriculum. And the absence of Disability Studies and a focus on disability in the discipline led me to interrogate where are all the disabled anthropologists. So in my own personal experience, I have a hidden impairment through my diagnosis of irritable bowel
