The lovely thing about traveling with just a backpack means that we don't have to fuss with things when getting around. The down side is that when I find a really, really cute set of plates, there's no way to bring them home.

I suppose it could be argued that's a plus, as well.

Condottiere. Leader of a band of mercenaries, right? Imagine my surprise when in Vienna it's some sort of pastry shop.

I know, not *quite* the same word, but surely its close enough that this is really just a front, and rogues & adventurers come here for the secret menu of quests. Right? Right?

Finally, something I'd wear to the gym. Preferably with a drink in hand
Incredible 1890s gym suit of navy and red wool or cotton, in the form of a middy blouse and mid-calf-length bloomers. The main garment is navy, with the red used for the revers, cuffs, dickey, and sash. Also has a pair of flat leather shoes. 🗃️🪡 #19thc

My old house had metal screen door that I kept locked all summer. Door-to-door salesmen would shout at me through it, visible but ignored. The entitlement - that my attention is somehow owed to anyone- still infuriates me. I rather like being able to easily ignore people here.

Dammit internet. I was innocently reading a review of the new Paddington Bear movie, and it mentioned the sketch of PB with the Queen. And now I'm down a rabbit hole to see who else has been turned into modern Ferrymen.

I love the concept of this garden. The community hangout spot where we spent a lot of time when we were in Tbilisi had a lovely garden, and one of my favorite things was to help weed and prune with the owner. (and drink wine. there may have been lots of wine.)
