But I dare say that stupidity is a defense mechanism for his mind. He is intelligent and has to make decisions for his people at all times.
Everything is exhausting: visions during sleep, hallucinations sometimes, paintings, meetings, arguments. Buddy is only stupid in order to protect himself.
