Finished the latest Warrior Cats book, "Hidden Moon" by Erin Hunter. This one was very lackluster. Characters were giving up on voicing their thoughts too many times & as a result, nothing much happened. STILL do not like Tawnypelt's romantic subplot. 2.5 out of 5 ⭐️. 📚💙 #booksky #middlegradebooks

Finished "Cry, Voidbringer" by Elaine Ho. I devoured this book in 3 days. The audiobook is the best way to experience this book. The narrator knows how to emote desperation & denial. Prepare for a roller coaster! READ IT! 10 out of 5 ⭐️. 📚💙 #booksky #diversebooksky

Dear dog people: when you see news stories about the rise in surrendered pets to animal shelters due to the govt shutdown, don't go into the comment section & give yourself praise for keeping your pets. It is weird & VERY unhelpful. Stop making it about you.

Finished "Blind Date with a Werewolf" by Patricia Briggs. This was a fun side story within the Mercy Thompson universe. Asil deserved a spotlight for his own adventures! Loved it! 5 out of 5 ⭐️. 📚💙 #booksky

Read "Run & Hide" by Beatrix Hollow. Spicy monster why-choose romance. It was creative with monster anatomy but Ava was admittedly dumb as a rock & Caspian the Merman was too rude for me. Mothman however saved this story! He was entertaining AF! 3 out of 5 ⭐️. Check TWs. 💙📚🌶 #booksky #monsterromance

Finished "My Boss is the Devil" by Ben Schenkman. The premise of working with the Devil to help make contracts is a fun concept & I really enjoyed the ending. The pacing of the story is a bit all over the place but I'm still willing to read the sequels. 3.5 out of 5 ⭐️. 📚💙 #booksky

Finished "The Berry Pickers" by Amanda Peters. Indigenous historical fiction about a lifetime's journey of loss and healing after a tragic disappearance of a little girl. I was so moved by both Joe's & Norma's struggles. Best book I read this month! 5 out of 5 ⭐️. #booksky #indigenousbooks

Finished "Zombabe" by IS Belle. Enjoyed the dynamic of Babe & Dude as they dealt with both their relationship & the zombie problem. Also loved how the author made the small rural town of Bulldeen its own character. Definitely recommend. 5 out of five ⭐️. 📚💙 🌈📚

Finished "Captive of Wolves" by Eva Chase. I liked only August. Didnt like the rest of the book. Why set the story in a Fae realm if the author wont let any of the characters do ANYTHING outside the house?! Overdescribing of colors & Kellan especially was boring! 1.5 out of 5⭐️. 📚💙 #booksky

Finished "The Rogue Crown" by AK Mulford. A lovely sapphic fantasy. I liked Bri's internal struggle between avoiding a prophecy & falling in love with a princess that can make the prophecy a reality. Slow beginning but great fight scenes at the end. 4.5 out of 5⭐️. 💙📚 🌈📚 #booksky #sapphicbooks

I just learned one of the books I read months ago used AI to help write their book. Not only that, the author is now making an AI short film of their book. I feel icky now for highlighting this book. Blaming myself for not reading the reviews beforehand. 😔

Finished "Sleeping with the Frenemy" by Natalie Caña. Solid story but not my favorite out of her books. Wasn't a fan of the dog being a tool to rekindle a 2nd chance romance. Did like the ADHD representation tho. 4 out of 5 ⭐️. 📚💙 📚🌶 #booksky #romancebooks

Finished "Midnight Rooms" by Donyae Coles. Love the book cover! The lesson I learned from this book is that you should NEVER be a people pleaser in a horror story! I loved the atmosphere. Wished the epilogue didnt exist tho. 4.5 out of 5 ⭐️. 📚💙 #booksky #blackbooksky #horrorbooks

Finished "The Chaos Wielder" by AE Cosby. Felt like there was too many characters to follow at 1st but once the dynamics of everyone settled, I really enjoyed it. Quade became my favorite! A healthy amount of spicy scenes! 5 out of 5 ⭐️. 📚💙 📚🌶

Finished "Stormclan's Folly" by Erin Hunter. Well it was better than the last superedition at least. A more coherent story but the lack of communication between Galestar & Stripestar was very forced & unnecessary. Liked the Wild Cats tho! Want more Wild Cats! 3 out of 5 ⭐️. 📚💙

Finished "Pack's Promise" by Victoria Kent. It is exactly as advertised. Omega Madison went looking at a club & falls for a pack with 2 Alphas & 1 Beta. Short story with very little plot beyond the heat cycle & signing contracts. Cute with nice spicy scenes. 4 out of 5 ⭐️. 📚💙 📚🌶

I just had a literal 18 year old try to tell me she has "5 years experience of being professional dog trainer". I told her she shouldn't lie to people & her response was "Well I'll have my mom message you! She thinks so!". She was being 100% serious. The jokes just write themselves! 🤣

I read the worst book ever. It was sci-fi & dealt with alternate timelines. 70% into the book, female MC has sex with another character DIRECTLY AFTER giving him the memories of another timeline where they were close step-siblings. The whole thing was treated as "quirky". It was gross. #booksky

Finished "Siren's Test" by Jessica Cage. At first I was very confused why the love interests were sidelined so much until I realized Cage never advertised this as a romance. It changes EVERYTHING once you treat it as only Sy's personal journey. Loved it. 4 star out of 5 ⭐️. #booksky #blackbooksky

Finished "Due North" by Jill N Davies. This is YA sci-fi with zombies. I love Mason as a character but the big timeskips in the story catches you off-guard & might not be for everyone. One villain in particular was well-done & can't wait to see his future demise. 4 out of 5 ⭐️. #booksky #yabooks

Hey here's a tip for the day inspired by a recent conversation I had:

If you're trying to defend your favorite piece of media when someone points out the racist tropes used in said media, maybe DON'T sound like Leonardo DeCaprio from Django Unchained. People (namely me) will laugh at you.

Finished "Skalterra By Nightmare" by MT Zimny. This was a fun read about teenager Wren being summoned to help save a world of magic in her sleep. Very good action scenes & once again this author made very well-written villains as well as bullies. 5 out of 5 ⭐️. 📚💙 #booksky #yabooks #fantasybooks

Finished "Marriage of a Thousand Lies". This is a sapphic literary fiction about a Sri Lanken woman in a lavender marriage while watching her former lover getting married off. Powerful read about how people get stuck in a cycle & it isnt easy to escape it. 5 out of 5 ⭐️.📚💙 📚🌈
