All things birding since 1989!
Just birds and nature lovers please, no profile, no follow back.
Second American Golden Plover in a week, this one at Titchwell RSB! Tough birding today with glimpsed DuskWarbler and YB Warbler at North Point Pools.

I used to get super excited to visit Cley NWT Reserve and still do! Beach Road, the Eye Field and the North Marsh were my favourites then. So question is it as good as it used to be?

Later start due to the fog. Tucklesholme fog bound until at midday. Two Swallow flew through and a couple of Stonechat were the pick! Just clinging onto summer with those hirundines. @ochrurosbirder.bsky.social

Managed to get onto the flock of 8 White-rumped Sandpipers at Belvide yesterday evening before they flew out east. An amazing regional record that I can’t see ever being beaten. Thanks to @belvidebirding.bsky.social for getting the news out so quickly.

Great views of a late Reed Warbler at Grimley, Ringed Plover, Kingfisher and Water.Rail were the other notables! 3 GWE also. #@ochrurosbirder.bsky.social

Well that frustrating, I didn’t see the Ulrome Greenish Warbler despite two attempts. 20+ Chiffchaff and 2 Lesser Whitethroat were small compensation. Love that as a patch.

At least 25 Yellow Wagtails in and around Patrington Haven yesterday afternoon!

Dipped the Common Cranes this am at The Outstrays NR but I did flush a Sort Eared Owl! Saw the later having a dance!

Strong SE winds hampered my birding at Spurn yesterday, most birds hunkered down. Redstart and Pied Fly around and Black Redstart and Whimbrel on the Humber foreshore. Maybe today they will emerge.

Popped into Tucklesholme this morning, not enough time to contribute to an all-dayer, did have a flyover Greenshank. @ochrurosbirder.bsky.social

Embarrassingly my first Whinchat of the year today in Sandwell Valley! First time I have stayed in the West Midlands for many a year!

Barr Beacon today busy with migrants. Tree Pipit lingering, Spotted Fly, 4 Redstart, 2 Wheatear and 4 Yellow Wags! Huge tit flock with Garden Warbler, 2 Willow Warbler, 6 Blackcap and a Whitethroat!

A very frustrating and directly underneath views of 3 Whimbrel/Curlew flying west over Barr Beacon this morning. Gut feeling say Whimbrel, compact, bill not overly long! @ochrurosbirder.bsky.social

Sixth regional Night Heron I think at Grimley this morning! Showing nicely in the rain.

Garganey at Blithfield Reservoir today. Caused a conversation of age! Pro male features, left me a little confused because it does not look juvenile either!

Had a day out into Lincs yesterday. No show by the Savi’s at a windy Rimac, but an excellent Frampton RSPB as usual, with Collared Pratincole and several summer Spotted Redshanks taking centre stage! @ochrurosbirder.bsky.social

A good day, started off at Slimbridge to see the summering Bluethroat (White-spotted). The back to Stafford to unblock a Woodchat Shrike! A good day.

Don’t like Hoopoe’s based on not seeing the West Mids one this morning before work! Oh and it’s there now!

Here is the edited image of the male Ring Ouzel this am on Portway Hill!

Live birding webcams are such fun and addictive! The camera qualities are very good nowadays, UK’s are fairly poor still, maybe because of the lack of quality! Northern Mockingbird just one of the stars this evening! #livewebcams

Looks like Hoopoe’s have given up with Europe also! And that is closest you will get from me doing a political post!
