ACBS has been more than a professional home for me, it’s been a refuge, a challenge & a family. It embodies what I love about contextual behavioral science: that it’s about real people, real suffering, & real change. I’m proud to have served as the 1st female president,

Thinking of joining ACBS? Say yes. Step in. Show up. You’ll find yourself surrounded by people who care deeply about ideas and about people. ACBS isn’t a place where you have to be perfect, it’s a place where you can grow, stretch, and contribute in ways that fit who you are.

My hope is that we continue to evolve while staying rooted in what matters: science in the service of human suffering. I want to see ACBS grow in inclusivity, across cultures, gender, disciplines & worldviews, so that contextual behavioral science truly reflects the diversity of the human experience

ACBS opened countless doors, not just professionally, but personally. It gave me opportunities to teach around the world, to write, to lead, to mentor, and to be mentored in turn. It connected me with remarkable people who share a commitment to science and compassion.

I have many fond ACBS moments, some truly grand & others contemplative. But, what stays with me are the late-night conversations & laughs. I once had a dancing session with just 6 or 7 of us in the auditorium in Argentina. I laughed so hard and learned that I don’t know very much about how to dance.

ACBS gave me a community where I could bring my full self, clinician, researcher, teacher, & human being, & be met with kindness instead of judgment, & with curiosity instead of dogma. It allowed me to take risks in my work, to experiment, to speak from both data & heart.

Grounded in ACT: How Metaphors and the Choice Point Model Strengthen Connection in Therapy
By Molly England For too long, society has perpetuated the myth that “experts” are somehow experts in other people’s lives. I’ve known this wasn’t true since the first time I experienced therapy.
