A gentle AND firm reminder to not let Disabled people get left behind in the revolution. Mask up. Make accessible what you safely can. Hold space for those whose rest is less so a privilege and more so an involuntary confinement. Disability is intersectional and nondiscriminatory. Forget no[body].

Not only will this procedure be gender-affirming, it will be life-changing as someone disabled by endometriosis. I've dealt with debilitating chronic pain since I was 13 and to be honest, it's hard to imagine an existence where much of that is alleviated. I'm so grateful that the nearly 20 years of trying to address this is finally resulting in this surgery, something I've been advocating to recieve for many years. I'm asking for help covering the many costs that will result from unpaid time off work. This includes rent, utilities, car payment, health insurance, phone bill, and groceries for one month's missed income. My goal for these expenses is $3500. It is wildly impossible for anyone """of child bearing age""'" to get cleared for the procedure, which I was reminded of repeatedly by providers. Made even worse by institutionalized cisnormativity (recent research shows that trans men's pain is often unbelieved or not addressed by their medical providers). In this worsening hellscape for trans safety and reproductive justice, here's a reminder that people of all genders are affected by barriers to access in reproductive health. I often wonder what it would be like if the same $20 wasn't continually circulating between marginalized people supporting each other through their own mutual aid. Time and time again I'm shown the generosity and resilience of those that are the most burdened by our violent systems. It doesn't escape me that funds most needed are exchanged between the hands of community members in and out of their own crisis. So much love to you, and a tight embrace.
