Just when I don’t think there is another possible order for a quotation mark, punctuation mark, and footnote superscript, my students inevitably produce something completely novel

Last day of the semester is always my favorite - not because it’s over but because I get to have the most candid conversations with students about their honest engagement with the course, its texts, and its pedagogical goals.

Of course bribing them with snacks helps as well!
