Watched Nomadland dir. Chloé Zhao's Hamnet. Yes, Jessie Buckley & Paul Mescal are here to obliterate you. It was beautiful. Also gave me a headache 🙃
Side note: I'd like the composer Max Richter to not sell his same work for several other very well known media but make new ones please.

Saw The Dutchman. Second act takes it somewhere you would expect like, After Hours (1985) would be maybe but film quickly falls on its knees. Kate Mara tries but this fever dream-wanna be project is just too wholesome and plays too safe even with the disturbing social themes.

Not sure about best male lead Oscar but this is the best Timothee Chalamet performance since Call Me By Your Name & another great character driven story by Josh Safdie. Chalamet truly shines in these positively repulsive roles. Brilliant cast, don't miss Marty Supreme it's absorbing.

I usually post about current media but making an exception since it deserves the recognition: I recently managed to watch HBO's Sharp Objects for the first time. I think this is the best Blumhouse production ever made altho I am not big on their stuff. Brilliant story telling.

I watched Wonder Man. Yahya Abdul-Mateen is good as usual, specially since he has Ben Kingsley as his scene partner, like all the time. Kudos to King... Honestly if there is any good Feige production on that platform, that is this series however it's not good as people been saying.

I watched Pillion. I want to thank the creators of this documentary for exposing the biker life to its fullest. Harry Melling delivers.

Saw The Secret Agent. Everyone says, Wagner Moura is great but everyone was awesome, great casting, to the last extra. The moment characters were talking about that one certain limb on a paper, I knew they were nodding to a grim urban myth IRL. Loved this film, great period piece.

Watched Rental Family, going back and forth between JPN to ENG and ENG to ENG subs was a pain but it's still worth it. Technically, this story would be a hard watch but Brendan Fraser has great scene partners and comedy bits actually land so it's a great light/feel-good movie.

Saw the 1st season of Pluribus. There is so much to talk about this since this is Vince Gilligan's return. I watch whatever series this guy cooks but Pluribus is not that good, should have hit harder for its very first season. Hope it gets better and doesn't overstay its welcome.

Watched Nuremberg. It's an okay watch. Altho I really enjoyed Russell Crowe and Dieter Riesle. It's been a while that I enjoyed watching Crowe acting.

Watched Riders of Justice dir. Ander Thomas Jensen's over the top family drama The Last Viking. First act was hilarious. Also it is nothing new for directors but I realized Jensen was collabing with the same actors for the last 20 years. Anyways it's a W drama/comedy, recommended.

Watched the witty romcom Eternity. Smart and entertaining job, great performances from everyone, specially Elizabeth Olsen. She was actually believable old timer in character while Milles Turner was not so much but, being Miles Turner... Anyways recommended & I don't even like romcoms.

Watched Sentimental Value. Apart from the film itself, I liked the performances of Renate Reinsve(lead) and Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas(supp). I liked it so much, I will see the previous collab between Reinsve and dir. Joachim Trier, The Worst Person in the World (2021).

Saw First Cow dir. Kelly Reichardt's The Mastermind. Wish script was still based on true events but also more fictitious cuz film ends the way I expected & the tragedy surrounding the film just leaves you to desire more of this story. Instead I got this feeling of dissatisfaction

Watched Dead Man Wake Up. Honestly didn't expect it to be good after Glass Onion fumble and almost thought it was gonna blow halfway through like GO did. Rich cast and solid lead from Josh O'Connor. Thematically, this is the best Knives Out but first one still remains special.
December 13, 2025 at 8:33 PM
Watched The Running Man. Kinda made me wanna check the '87 adaptation cuz people saying 2025 version didn't do nothing to elevate the '87. I like Edgar Wright's films, they are usually not only witty but also coherent. This film was in a rush, I think its runtime screwed the film

Watched Longlegs dir. Osgood Perkins' Keeper. Script needs the support 🤷‍♂️ However, it is creepy. And the lead, our Tatiana Maslany, once again, amazing. We gotta talk about Maslany more often guys, such an underrated talent. Loved the practical effects, most VFX works some don't.

Watched Die My Love. Truly a hysterical(literally) 2 hours. Loved everything about it maybe except the brief on the nose visual effects, the close-up Rob Pattinson shot. Really doesn't fit well with the rest of this beautifully shot media. Jennifer Lawrence is great. This is easily another MUBI W.
December 10, 2025 at 9:01 AM
Saw Jay Kelly. No disrespect to Emily Mortimer but honestly this story says nothing new and if the funny bits in 2nd act didn't work, I'd stop watchin this cuz I didn't care for the MC and you know what this is about, it's told million times... Rich cast doesn't really help here. A Baumbach fumble.
December 8, 2025 at 3:18 PM
Watched Blue Moon. Beautifully produced performance piece and despite having scenes with lots of great actors, leading actor shines bright. It's a tastement that Ethan Hawke is the best of the best. He's adorable and Blue Moon is a roller coaster of emotions.

I was gonna skip this but got bored and watched Steve. As expected it's a youth drama but mostly from the perspective of the teachers. Emily Watson, Tracy Ullman, Cillian Murphy all good but actors who play the students are great. Usually is when it's an British/Irish youth drama.

Watched Train Dreams. If you have some time to spare, if you like real sad stories, if you enjoy Joel Edgerton act as I do, if you like nature, I think you will like Train Dreams. It looks real beautiful, has great shots.

Saw Bugonia. Super fun watch, loved Emma Stone's corporate demon persona. I am starting to notice that in dir. Yorgos Lanthimos' few recent entries, there is this mirror that reflects the real world. But the mirror is one of those distorted, funhouse mirrors. Anyways, recommended.

Watched dystopian drama Anniversary. Good casting but film feels too short for its own good. Drastic changes between events need more breathing room to settle in but perhaps creators didn't want to bore the audience since this is purely a political family drama.
