America Didn’t Give Us Much This Year.
But Some Things Still Held.

This Thanksgiving, we're not writing about pilgrims, pumpkin pie, or the sanitized myth we were all handed in grade school.
I’m writing about what held this year when so much threatened to crack.

62 years ago today, in Dallas, the country changed course in an instant.
Every November 22nd, I stop for a moment and sit with that loss.
It still makes me emotional — the echo of what might have been never really fades.

Not every week calls for a manifesto.

This one’s a dispatch from the Workroom — what’s simmering, what’s coming, and the quiet legislative project stealing some brain cycles.

EA’s $55 Billion Sale Isn’t Just About Games — It’s About Who Controls the Future of Play
What looks like a $55 billion gaming merger is really a geopolitical land grab — one that puts an authoritarian state at the center of AI, data, and digital play.

The film industry loves to expose cruelty—just never its own. From von Trier to Weinstein, we keep applauding men who turn abuse into art and call it genius.
When cruelty hides behind a camera, we call it “vision.” When it hides anywhere else, we call the police.

Calling our present political leadership a “corporate oligarchy” is inaccurate. It implies that there are several corporate leaders driving policy decisions to their benefit. The truth is worse: those CEOs are bending the knee to one person to remain “in favor”. Under threat, they have zero power.

I’ve been thinking about this incessantly for months: The best way - perhaps the only way - for any resistance to win is to win the information war. The right have successfully sewn up online and legacy media spheres and, short of having an unlimited budget, I can’t see how we can show the truth.
