This is what 3 hours of shoveling in a snowstorm looks like. This is also what my dad looked like. It’s scary.

60 minutes at 8am

How to get a free haircut, a 5-step process
1 - Ask for normal haircut, #2 on the sides, short on top.
2 - Watch in horror as hairdresser does a #2 over one side of your head.
3 - Ask "ummm, I said #2 on sides, short on top, not #2 all over".
4 - See look of horror on hairdresser's face.
5 - Profit

There are dozens of parts in a kitchen sink. Plumbers have literally all of them in stock, except for the flex hose. I've called 3 plumbers, and they all said the same thing. The lag time for that part is approximately 3-4 weeks.
Guess I am going to buy a new kitchen faucet tonight.

Wow. When they say "take this antibiotic with food", they really, really mean it.

Hey, writers.

How do you get those first words down. I have something in my head, I would like to get it out (even if it never gets published) but the thought of putting those first words down terrifies me for some reason I don't understand.

I'm seeing a lot of GoFundMes today, for people displaced by disaster/war, and for other purposes, so if you/a friend have a GoFundMe (or other legit personal fundraising appeal) running, here's a thread for you to use to raise awareness. Go ahead and post the details and links in the comments.

Hey, #writers. I have decided I would like to try to get the story in my head out of my head. Before I get too many bad habits, are there some tools that I should look into using that might make my life easier?

For an early Christmas gift, I got $50 for the #kobo ebook store. I am a big fan of fantasy and science fiction. I would like to spend it on some smaller authors to read on the beach. Suggestions?

Wow.

Watching an interview between Vassy Kapelos (host of CTVs Power Play) and Anthony Housefather. She didn't even finish the question "Do you think that Justin Trudeau should resign?" and he was answering "yes."

I don't know who needs to know this, but Pro Publica has an online thing that will format a letter to your US health insurance company to demand the records behind a claim denial. (which the insurance is then legally required to provide in most cases)

Hey, @bsky.app , we can haz??
Blocking anyone who is mildly sus immediately and without particular emotional engagement is obviously the best way to go but once in a while it would be nice to have a block option that ALSO produces an animation of the profile being flushed down a toilet or maybe the text melting gruesomely away
