Feed the hungry, house the poor, clothe the naked. And then play some jazz.
Here's the virtual back of a cat for your petting pleasure. It's ok. She loves it.

I was 7 years old when I discovered jazz watching this show. And Peanuts. I got Peanuts merch every Christmas. But no jazz.
On this day in 1965 - 60 years ago today - A Charlie Brown Christmas makes its debut, airing on CBS.
It won an Emmy and a Peabody Award and has aired every year since.

Living in Minnesota we encounter Somalis every day. I have worked beside them. They live in my neighborhood. They have given me loving care while in the hospital. Minneapolis would look very different. And not in a good way.

My day started with this email from Medicare. Thanks for the advice about mental health Dr. Oz. I'm going back to bed now.

How many times today I wanted to tell people about game 7
Second day in a row that Minnesotans want to tell you about 1991

Go Jays! I want to see the tantrum you will induce when you win the #worldseries

Davis and Smoltz blathering on non-stop makes me miss Bob Uecker. A man of minimal words. "2-2 pitch...high and inside." Silence...till the next pitch. #worldseries

As a Twins fan I didn't like John Smoltz in 1991 and I like him less now announcing the #worldseries

I can't help but wonder how different things would be if Wellstone had lived longer.
23 years yesterday, my old friends Paul and Sheila Wellstone died. Resist intolerance, fascism, racism, anti-Semitism, anti-LGBTQ, science and climate change denial, censorship of literature, and gun violence.

I can't lie I'm excited to see a Canadian team in the #WorldSeries. What's next? A Puerto Rican on the Superbowl halftime show??

My career was in radio thanks in part to Susan Stamberg. I wasn't a journalist but one of my textbooks was Every Night at Five: Susan Stamberg's All Things Considered. Every night before she turned on her mic she put on lipstick because she was speaking to you...in your home.

Nancy ain't playin.
Rep. Nancy Pelosi has had enough of the right wing-lies. As Dems continue to show up to try and make a deal to reopen the government, Pelosi was confronted by a reporter asking about January 6th. Pelosi snapped back telling her to "shut up".

Many of my favorite movies starred this woman. But mostly I will remember how I started wearing a vest, tie, and trousers after I saw Annie Hall in my 20s.
