Brazil just set an example for accountability and the rule of law that the world should notice.

A former president lost a free and fair election, he claimed massive voter fraud and organised a military coup, which ultimately failed.

He was arrested, tried and convicted. This is how it should work.

It's a worrying thought on this 24th anniversary of 9/11. If another such national crisis were to befall the United States, would its leaders and citizens have the ability to come together as one nation, to see past their differences enough to go and bomb some Middle East countries? Dark times...
