Nothing feeds imposter syndrome more than getting stuck on hiring pipeline coding tests for a position you've spent the last 4-5 years doing practically

Made quite a bit of progress this week immersing myself not just in the design and code of my game's systems, but in VR too! Not as stomach turning with all the 3rd POV jumping and dashing around as I thought

the perennial "is this a good replacement for twitter / can it become as big as twitter" discussion is so confused. hominids became bipedal about 7 million years ago. for most of the time since we did not have microblogging. it's not a necessity it's a habit, if it all goes away that's fine

Now I'm wondering if you could compile this into an executable and integrate with steamworks for a three.js -> Steam game pipeline somehow

Absolutely ridiculous. Good on him for the bit of malicious compliance he can still pull off.

Why are there so many low-quality recordings of IPA sounds on Wikipedia? I'm talking like -24db, room tone, tinny sound, REVERB even. The description for Voiceless velar lateral fricative.ogg literally says "Hopefully it's correct." and was uploaded 13 years ago. How is this acceptable?

Agreed, its interesting in theory but arguably not worth the cost/effort right now IMO, especially using all these big tech/commodified models

Fascinating! Will add this to my watchlist for some point

What is top-right creature/serious from?

I don't think there is any one "task", the goal seems to be just seeing what emergent actions/behaviors arise from putting a bunch of LLMs in a loop with a shared chat and control over a computer system.

Been really confused by social media for a while but I think I've figured it out: everyone except me has an explosive collar and it will detonate if they don't immediately contribute to the same discourse that everyone hates

Please, Apple, do this one right.
Neuromancer by @greatdismal.bsky.social finally gets a TV series. Could be amazing, but expectations will be high from all of us who read these books when we were young.

Count Zero was a personal fave.
Apple TV's New Cyberpunk Show That Was Called 'Unfilmable' Is the Sci-Fi Event of the Decade
One book-to-screen adaptation that was once thought impossible is finally coming to Apple TV next year--and we couldn't be more excited.
