Yeah, their relationship began under Unusual Circumstances.
They also spent months living together as Best Friends before realizing they'd developed feelings for each other. So they learned each other as People, first, before adding any Romance.
I think that initial sense of "camaraderie" helps.

.... before the veil betwixt life and death itself collapses, for the book has the power to summon the undead and should it fall into the wrong hands. Luckily It's agent has found the book but it is resisting its return as the agent is unskilled. Hopefully he will succeed soon. (2/3)

Notes: I feature the Dark Nexus often in my tales. To me it is sentient, similar to how the Force in Star Wars might be sentient. Not as good or evil, however, but more as a primal entity far beyond mortal or even immortal kin. The Dark nexus includes the Netherwoirld or Underworld as well. (3/3)
