Trump supporters attacked the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 and Trump didn't call in the National Guard.

This.... just this. 😢
Whenever law enforcement agents are given a quota of a specific number of people to arrest or detain, especially with the WH policy director screaming at their superiors to hit those target numbers, bad things are going to happen. Quotas always result in civil rights violations.

Heading to DC to watch the @washingtonspirit.com play, not for the 1st time, but this time there's no pride/excitement at being in nations Capitol. Excitement for the game yes but for once not for the surroundings. In the big picture, not very consequential but another thing this regime has taken.

100% this! I live in an area where the economy is driven by fed jobs, it's amazing how many people around support him & his actions. They really don't know how bad it's gonna get for our area real quick. Once they wake up I wonder how many will say, 'I didn't think the leopard would eat my face.'

Any other educators finding it beyond exhausting to spend all day trying to smile & ignore what's going on around them, for the sake of the kids in class, only 2 come home to your own family & just completely melt down? Or find yourself terrified when certain students are absent? Am I alone here?

Someone in my daily interactions, a diehard trumper to the point of planning a family vacation at the Trump winery/having a huge inauguration party to celebrate, has verbally expressed "concern " over actions occurring as they are now personally impacted. To soon for this?

My middle school aged child was discussing where she wants to live when she grows up with me, sort of offhandedly she said, "not California because they have a lot of school shootings." What are we doing that this is even in the mix of conversation over future homes? Just what the actual f*ck. 😔

Fair winds and following seas Mr. President. I'm kinda glad he won't have to see what becomes of the US. Sending prayers for his family and friends. www.npr.org/2024/12/29/1...
Jimmy Carter, former U.S. president and peace activist, dies at 100
Carter was president from 1977 to 1981, but he was perhaps more famous for the life he led after he left office. He was one of the biggest advocates for peace, democracy and human rights.

Hey companies, be more like Costco and less like Walmart please and thank you.
After some Costco shareholders asked the company to end its DEI policies, this was their response: “Our board has considered this proposal and believes that our commitment to an enterprise rooted in respect and inclusion is appropriate and necessary."

This explains why Costco is an industry leader!

As my gen z children would say, whomp whomp. He's shown his disdain for unions for years through his actions yet these people believed his words versus actions. Seems like a case of getting what you asked for as we enter the find out stage of fafo. 🤷‍♀️ meidasnews.com/news/union-w...

Heard more than once in my classroom today, "this is the best school day ever." My heart needed that! Even better I'm officially now on Thanksgiving break. Time to spend time with my family, eat too much, and recharge.

Somehow mother/teen daughter drama makes things weirdly more bearable in this current political hellscape as it's so normal & conversely unbearable as I worry about her future. Silver lining is living in a state that enshrined her rights into constitution & where education matters. #Tuesdaythoughts
