Concur.
Cal robbed of the MVP this year.

“Right fielder hits real good” vs “Starting catcher carries and elevates team while breaking records."

Absofuckinglutely bullshit.

This is absolutely the reason I don't like pickleball. The sound of the ball hitting the paddle with a dull thwack is really gross to my ears.
Pickleball is full of annoying traits — the sound being one of them for many communities that live near courts.

Research suggests pickleball noise can actually impact health. Here’s how: https://wapo.st/4hG3sfx

I'm curious: does Pope Leo XIV retain his US citizenship now that he is the leader of a foreign country?

Secret Six
I have a question. It's just curiosity.

I was thinking today about characters that I absolutely associate with writers who did not create them. Like Frank Miller with Daredevil, for example.

If when you think of a character, you associate them with me, who would that be?

I've been asked, "How can I tell if my mix is correct?" And the answer is: You've spent all your life listening to TV shows. You know what a TV show should sound like. If your mix sounds like a TV show, you're doing it correctly.

Trust your ears.
Psst, want to know a #sounddesign and #Foley secret?

There is no recipe. There is no push-button solution. It's all nuance, project specifics, budgetary requirements, and personal circumstance.

That's it. That's the post. And our whole profession.

The overall plan is to tank the market, let the rich buy more stock, then release the tariffs and watch stock prices soar, right?

The only reason I know about NIOSH at all is because five years ago we all were looking for face masks that met its approval.

But hey, that was five years ago! I'm sure those employees and their work is unimportant now, right?
Among cuts at HHS: most of the workers at NIOSH, incl Pittsburgh national lab that approves and ensures continued quality of respirators - N95s + breathing devices for firefighters, miners, people working w chemicals, construction dust. “Nothing is happening to make sure they continue to be safe”
On Elon Musk and RFKjr's devastation of NIOSH:
"It’s a small thing, but it’s massive in terms of its impact and its importance,” said John McDonough, professor at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. “And they’ve just wiped it off the face of the Earth.” @megtirrell.bsky.social

I saw Val put on his one man show about Mark Twain at Pasadena Playhouse and at one point his smoke machine went out and he went over and tried to get it to work mid act. It was great.

RIP. He wasn't my Batman, but he was a good Batman.

I think the transfer portal is a good thing for college football and bad for college basketball.

It allows football teams to become competitive immediately and spreads talent. For basketball, it just helps universities steal players from smaller schools. No more Cinderella teams in March Madness.

I think it should be banned just because it seems incredibly dangerous to the QB.
“Only two teams, Philadelphia and Buffalo, ran the tush push more than five times last season. And of the 35,415 total plays last season, the tush push accounted for just 101 of those plays, 0.28%.”

If you liked that, you should check out "Brother Bear Sing Along Songs" on Disney DVD, a project I spent 40 straight hours mixing over the course of a weekend and looking back on it was totally worth it and not at all me paying the price for a producer not being able to say "no" to a client.
Brother bear is such an underrated movie, the spirituality of the film was captured SO well!

The NFL players' union released its third annual "report card," which asks players to grade their own team on various categories.

The Vikings have ranked No. 1 (2023), No. 2 (2024), and No. 2 again this year

Musk: I should say we will make mistakes. We won't be perfect. But when we make a mistake we'll fix it quickly. So for example with USAID, one of the things we accidentally canceled briefly was Ebola prevention.
