Day 13
Alien/Predator games
Being a fan of the movies, books, and comics growing up, I was immediately drawn to games based on the Alien and Predator franchises.

Day 12
Doom
First-person shooters didn't come into popularity until the next console generation (GoldenEye, anyone?). While there are better versions of Doom out there, the Super Nintendo version is more than just a technical display of the impressive 16-bit machine.

Day 11
Legend of Zelda for the Satellaview
The online service in Japan essentially released a remake of the original Legend of Zelda on the SNES with improved graphics and live events. A strange experiment and a fun ROM to have!

Day 10
Batman 16-Bit Games
Batman was riding high after the original Tim Burton film, having multiple sequels and an animated series. The games, like the movies had diminishing returns, no pun intended.

Day 9
Zombies Ate My Neighbors
With couch co-op being such an important feature to me as a kid, Adam and put so many hours into Zombies when we were younger. We never owned it, but we rented it so many times, we should have. Never played Ghoul Patrol until this modern release.

Day 8
Yoshi's Island
Released as Super Mario World 2 in the west, Yoshi's Island used a crayon-like art style and quirky game play to endear countless gamers. Yoshi was a hit from the day he was introduced, not it was great to see him get his own enjoyable platformer.

Day 7
Super Castlevania IV & Dracula X
While the series is now known for its Exploritory Adventure style, it's roots lie in Action Platforming. Super Castlevania is one of my favorites of this original genre.

Day 6
Super Mario World & All-Stars
Not only is Super Mario World one of the best launch games for a console ever, but when you add Super Mario All-Stars to the mix, the SNES had FIVE killer Mario games.

Day 5
Secret of Mana
After my first experience with Secret of Mana, I fell in love with action role playing games. I didn't like Secret of Evermore as much, but found out later in life that it wasn't a "true" sequel

Day 4
Donkey Kong Country Trilogy
3D models being used to create pre-rendered graphics gave us unbelievable visuals in the mid-90s. People were convinced that the original DKC was a PC game, because there was no way something so graphically impressive could be on a home console!

Day 3
Star Fox
With the use of the Super FX Chip, Star Fox gave the illusion of 3D polygons that shouldn't have been possible until the next gaming generation. While SF64 is probably the favorite in the series, the Super Nintendo entry was the original!

Day 2
Spiderman & XMen games
The NES has several superhero games that would make you give up on the genre as a whole. But the SNES had some solid beat'em ups that starred out favorite Marvel heroes.
