A few years back I visited the Dachau concentration camp. Many things struck me, but the one that I hold close is this:

The citizens of Dachau and the neighbors near the camp KNEW something was going on. They turned a blind eye because free/cheap labor. They pretended it wasn't there.

ICE raids will begin in our communities soon. If you are a US Citizen you have power and privilege, but may also be targeted if you look like "the other". Know your rights and what to do. This came up in my social feed. It's directed at Chicagoans, but the advice is generalizable for the rest of us.

AOC: "I want folks at home to look at what members of Congress are invested in private prisons companies, and look at the votes on this bill. It is atrocious that people are lining their pockets with private prison profits in the name of a horrific tragedy."

Everyone is reading/recalling books like 1984 and The Handmaid's Tale, which are relevant and important.

I'd also point to It Can't Happen Here. It was written almost 100 years ago, just before the rise of Hitler. It starts off feeling unrealistic, but by the end it is believable.
