Magnolia is a Mauve Stinging Jellyfish, and Somnus is another word for Sleep. So her magic is stinging people into deep sleeps.
I like the idea that Jellyfish Familiars are so ornate and pretty that everyone forgets their clothing is their skin. And that they are sticky and squishy to the touch.
