A trip to the indie bookshop or local library (or supporting them online) instead of placing an order through a mega-retailer.

Heading to a local coffee shop instead of an international chain.

Joining an indie's book club, fostering IRL connections.

Asking a librarian instead of relying on AI.

Urban fantasy really does bring a unique twist to the genre! 🌆✨ The blend of contemporary life with magical elements creates such rich dynamics. Found family is the heart of it all! 💖 #UrbanFantasy #FoundFamily
I’m a longtime SFF & Romance reader, but thinking over your questions shows me maybe why I prefer urban fantasy as a genre to high fantasy setting. Contemporary settings, spin on dynamics, usually a mystery of some kind running the plot. And I feel like found family/collective happens more. Hmmm.
