I showed a student how I quickly do division of large numbers in my social studies class- he was like wow! And had the idea that we teachers should switch subjects for a day. #teaching
I think we’ll look back years from now and wonder why we held onto siloed views of literacy for so long. Fundamentally, it bespeaks such a deeply fragmented view of the outcomes we are trying to provide. Some helpful approaches in Alex’s post — check it out!

Why is Texas referred to as the Rio grande valley when literally the whole middle of New Mexico is actually the Rio grande valley?. I get that one border of TX is . the RG & that that has sociopolitical implications but the whole state of NM is actually the valley AND the RG rift. #riograndevalley
