We were pleased to attend the University of Derby’s Environmental Sciences Employability Event today. It was great to chat to students about peatlands and the range of jobs and expertise involved in moorland restoration.

Getting to know the landscape means feet on the ground in all seasons and conditions. This week our Conservation Works Officers headed to a snow-dusted Goyt Valley to continue surveying the area, to scope out future works.

1/2 This month we completed our annual dip well campaign. Every week from September until Christmas, our #science team and volunteers go out in all weathers to check the depth of the water table. The dip wells are checked manually, by blowing down a tube which is lowered into the well.
