I think this is a good idea, but I honestly think most folk, even ones who say they'll tip, will not tip. I guess it's just the cynical side of me showing. Doesn't hurt to try it.

Now that I've had time to think about it, the issue with the Homestuck pilot is that there's nothing really there to hook people new to HS. All this stuff is thrown at you and as weird as it all is, there's no emotional hook to any of the characters or world's design. It's kind of generic as it is.

Watched the Homestuck pilot. Thought it was pretty good. Only thing is they completely missed the mark on a scene that really set the tone back in the original comic. It was a serious, kind-of-scary moment in all that weirdness. Pilot version is just another goofy bit that doesn't really stand out.
