Bucharest Pride was absolutely amazing today! Tens of thousands showed up for a massive march despite the heat, a stand against nationalist fascism, a bullet Romanians managed to dodged not even two weeks ago. So many also chanted against genocide, I had tears in my eyes 🥲🇵🇸🏳️‍🌈

I've been craving it for a few days, today I got around to making it: creamy rice pudding with cardamom, lime zest and rose water, foraged wild cherries in light syrup, and seasonal flowers (honeysuckle, mallow, linden and cornflower).

Mallow leaves stuffed with wild mushrooms (Cerioporus & Pleurotus), green onion, green garlic and millet, served with pink semolina porridge made with kefir and beetroot puree. Mallow flowers, wild thyme and dill-infused oil as garnish.

We went to sleep late last night after an evening of frantic refreshing the news pages for elections’ final result, and we’ve been sleepy all day, so I took my dog to the park to just lay in the grass. Mock strawberry 🍓 as a bonus, it looks so yummy but tastes like cardboard.

Romania just dodged a very close bullet and in a spectacular turnaround voted massively for the pro-European candidate over the sinister Trumpist one. People are now celebrating in the streets and I can finally go to sleep after two weeks of anxiety… 🎉🇪🇺

We had a big scare with my friend's dog who had a vestibular syndrome attack on Sunday night, but after an MRI and 3 days of hospitalization he is now better and finally back with us and I'm so grateful 🥲

Every time I cook okra (not often), I remember a bit from a fic where Beatrice hated okra and it always makes me chuckle.
