Honestly I couldn’t be luckier. My stepson is super cool so every year I make him a cake. You can’t tell from the photo but that’s a layered chocolate pound cake under that not-to-sweet chocolate frosting. Lots of feels but I’ll just leave it at: cake.

I’ve been working on this same book for years. When I have no sparkles of inspiration for new things I can obsess about circles and textures and get out the colors and noise.
