As I sit here in my car, in line for harvester's food pickup, I am thinking about the dread. I feel that in days tRump will be president, and these food banks will be so much more needed. It makes me sad. Hopefully the struggles we will endure better finally convince the MAGAs tRump doesnt care.

@gavinnewsom.bsky.social on Mike Johnson considering conditioning disaster aid: "Never in California did we question whether or not we, as taxpayers in the largest state in the Union, should support the people of Louisiana at a time of emergency and need. We’d never condition it."

I know a lot of people will say I'm wrong, and that's your opinion. You're entitled to it. I didn't come to this overnight. I have struggled with this for over a decade. There's no way I can tell my Mom this or others in my family. They wouldn't understand. I can't follow blindly anymore. TY

I feel strongly that whenever people start to progress, religion will always step in to convince or force them to convert as a form of control. After much internal struggle, I have chosen to be atheist. So much suffering at the hands of one religion or another by hypocrites. I will never be that...

They also had violence and oppression. I learned a lot about the religious wars of the past. I started doubting the role of the church. They preach about love and forgiveness. To love thy neighbor and turn the other cheek. Yet, I see hate and bigotry from those same people.

I couldn't understand how that was fair. They had more. Why did they need ours, too? Fast forward 40 years, and I started looking at other religions thanks to my dad's insistence that I can't complain about another religion without knowing anything about it. I found them fascinating and beautiful...

I was brought up in a Southern Pentecostal church. I watched as my family struggled to make ends meet and put food on the table. I watched the Pastor, Deacons, and their families driving Lincolns, wearing expensive clothes and jewelry. And yet, they asked us to give 10% to the church.
More to come.

The hardest thing to deal with since MAGA started is slowly losing my family members to the hate. 2 of my 3 brothers won't speak to me because I'm a progressive, and I wouldn't bend to their will. My veteran brother is lost down the MAGA rabbit hole. He is consumed with hate and bigotry.

I'm happy to have found a home here on Bluesky. I live in Kansas, and I feel lost in a sea of red. If I'm listening to one of my progressive podcasts in my car, I have to turn it down when near others. I just needed a safe place to go and talk politics or other issues with like-minded people.
