The march into authoritarianism progresses with little to no friction. Very little legal effect, more and more people living in fear, less of our tax dollars being used to help everyday tax-paying citizens, all decisions walled off from scrutiny by more and more lies. This was not on my bingo card.

Does anyone have a copy of a case study where a nation successfully ended a reign of terror led by federalized police occupation without a civil war? I am not finding an equivalent scenario where the angry occupiers calmly disarm and resume their previous activities.

A solid summary of where we are today. I do not know how much more of “Trump’s morality” the world can take. I again look to the Supreme Court for some accountability to the Constitution, and ideally, to an affection for the rule of law. You are now the architects of the most sick era of US history.

I sat with five friends from different facets of life and familial connection in San Fran last night. Each opined that they do not to expect to see a mid-term election. We are fucked and no one knows what we can do.

Where are our Federal funds? Can every state sue this administration for damages - and publish the long list of what has been taken away from the people? For example - they have reprogrammed our money to pay billions to their friends via contracts for detention centers. . . you ok with that?

I have been thinking about where people find “belonging” and how out of touch the vaulted term “academy” is. We need a reset of what we value as achieving spaces … and celebrate and support men (and women) who are using their wit, brains, patience, instinct, creativity and care to make life work.
I loved finding this little grouping of ladies in the statuary hall at the Capital last week.
Sad they were unable to spring to life and slap some sense into their state’s leaders before the vote later in the week.
